Fall is finally upon us! This means pretty much everything pumpkin spice (including our skincare), darker makeup colors, fun flannels, and comforting candles. Here at Self Care Key, fall is our favorite season, and it’s more important than ever to have a stabilized skin care routine before the holiday season officially comes around.
Fall Morning Skincare Routine:
Step 1: Shower with your favorite fall scents. I’m obsessed with the bath and body works sweet cinnamon pumpkin body wash. It genuinely puts me in a good mood, and I feel like I’ve already had my morning pumpkin spice latte!
Step 2: After applying my favorite fall scented body lotion (marshmallow pumpkin latte is my go-to) I like to spend extra time on my facial skincare routine. I tend to stray away from fragrances on my face, so I indulge in scents while showering. For my face, during the fall it tends to get drier than usual due to the sudden drop in temperature, hence I like to reach for something a bit more moisturizing. Check out Flare’s ultimate facial cleansers for skin that won’t leave you feeling dry.
Step 3: Once I wash my face and apply a basic hydrating lotion, I like to jump into my fall makeup routine. This includes most of the basics, but I like to play around with darker shadows and lip colors. I’ve absolutely been loving the Milani Amore Satin Matte Lip Créme in Crimson Curse, since it compliments pretty much almost every one of my fall outfit combinations.
Step 4: Grab my favorite fall beverage and get to work! Since I’m working a lot more from home nowadays, I like to take a break from my computer or whatever I’m doing and enjoy a 5 minute fall sheet mask (best for the days I decide not to do my makeup), just to take a quick break and rejuvenate.
Nighttime Skincare Routine:
Step 1: Finally it’s time to unwind, and treat yourself to the ultimate nighttime skin routine. I like to start with a homemade pumpkin spice sugar scrub, to eliminate any dead skin and dirt that was accumulated throughout the day. A simple olive oil, sugar, and pumpkin pie spiced scrub not only smells amazing, but the aroma will definitely put you in a good mood and help you achieve ultimate relaxation.
Step 2: Once I wash off my scrub, I go in with my favorite nighttime moisturizer, and maybe a face mask, if I really want to treat myself. I’ll let my skin soak in my go-to dark circle corrector, and throw a few pimple patches on.
Step 3: The number one secret to skincare is keeping hydrated, so I’ll make myself a cup of hot chamomile tea, light a few fall candles and call it a day.
